Economical seawater desalter.

The purpose of the project:
The device proposed in this project allows to produce desalinated water for technical and everyday purposes. Actual desalination can be implemented by building desalinating plants near the sites of water consumption.

General information:
In the proposed device, there are two principles of desalination:
1. Generation of electromagnetic waves at the resonance frequency of the particles being removed from the water;
2. Filtering the water using membranes.
Energy consumption of electromagnetic field generator should not exceed 1 kilowatt-hour per 1 cubic meter of water. The membrane used for the further filtration is specially designed for low pressure filtering. The permeability of such membrane is 30..40 g/m2s (which is 10..12 times the permeability of other types of desalinating membranes.) The produced water should have not more than 0.05% of the original salt. Estimated cost of one cubic meter of desalinated water is $0.35.
