Ecologically clean technology and device for disinfection of fruits and vegetables for exporting or long-term storing.


The purpose of the project:
Transition from environmentally unhealthy use of poison chemicals for disinfection to environmentally clean use of radiation of special electric field.

General information:
This project proposes a device treating fruits and vegetables using a special alternating electric field with various parameters such as exposition, frequency, and field strength depending on dependant upon the sort of the product and the kind of bacteria or pests treated.
The installation that can be used for the treatment is a conveyer. The mass of such installation with productivity of 5 tons/hour is estimated to be 2 tons. Energy consumption should be 2 kilowatt-hour per 1 ton of treated products.

Cost efficiency:
1. No need for expensive chemicals.
2. No need for washing and drying after chemical treatment.
